On Friday 7th November, Psychology and Health and Social Care students form Maidstone Grammar School for Girls took part in a Skype in the Classroom video call with an American Psychologist, Dr Melissa Hopper.
During the Skype call she discussed with us schizophrenia and eating disorders, both of which we study as part of our A’Level courses. This gave us the opportunity to hear first-hand about the illnesses and enabled us to gather a real world understanding, which will be useful not only in our exams but in continued study and potentially our careers.
This was a fantastic opportunity to reinforce our learning in a different way and we also had the chance to engage with her through asking questions. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience which has helped enrich our learning and on behalf of the Psychology and Health and Social Care students I would like to thank Mrs Harris and Mr Hamilton for the experience.
