Two teams of four year 10 students took part in the Maths Feast last Tuesday. The competition was named after the courses of a meal, hence its title. Rounds were the amuse-bouche, starter, entrée, main and dessert.
We competed against 10 teams from schools across the county. There was a lovely atmosphere in the hall as students were challenged to complete tasks including answering questions using curriculum mathematics, tackling a new area of mathematics and building a tower of Columbus cubes.
Although no overall prize was awarded, each of our teams won a round and scored highly in others. They were equal first in building the tallest tower. Teachers from other schools who worked with our teams said they were a delight to be with.
Congratulations to all the participants and thank you to the year 12 and 13 students who helped throughout the morning.
