On Saturday 28th February the school’s Chamber Choir joined forces with other choral groups and the Maidstone Singers in a concert at All Saints’ Church which included ‘ Mass of the Children’ by John Rutter. The concert was well-attended and the audience was treated to some beautiful singing. The Chamber Choir are to be congratulated on their wonderful performance and also for representing the school by turning up in such large numbers.
The following Thursday, 5th March, saw another concert, this time presented by the Music Department which showcased solo items along with performances by some of the school’s music groups and small group lesson ensembles. Again, the standard was outstanding and the variety of music and performances was enjoyed by a large audience.
The Music Department would like to thank the generosity of the school’s PFA who have donated £700.00 towards providing instruments and equipment for the Samba Band and to parents, friends and relatives who attended the concert and contributed to the £409.65 which was raised as a result and will be used to provide music and equipment for school ensembles.
