BIMA Digital Day 2021!
On Wednesday 10th November our Year 10 students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the first ever digital event after the pandemic. BIMA Digital Day gives students an insight into a world of digital careers and each year the event focuses on a social cause and how technology can provide the required change. This year’s focus was on Climate Change and students were asked to design digital solutions to make it easier for people to make more sustainable, environmentally friendly, and low carbon choices in their everyday life – to save our planet.
We had eleven teams working on various ideas such as applications to track your carbon footprint, campaigns to raise awareness on plant-based food, alternative modes of transport, and games that enabled eco-awareness. The winning design, ‘The Tree of Life’ , is an app where users will have an opportunity to learn from scientific professionals and other users to improve their own carbon footprint. The work produced by the winning team comprising Ellie M, Freya F, Lana G and Neha D will now be entered into the national competition to compete against other schools from across the UK. We wish the team good luck for the final judging in December.
