6th Sense Rocks the Battle of the Bands Final at Canterbury Christ Church University
We are incredibly proud to share the success of our senior band, 6th Sense, who were selected after stiff competition from schools across Kent to perform at the Battle of the Bands competition final at Canterbury Christ Church University. Sam, Lucas, Dylan, and James delivered an outstanding high-energy performance that wowed both the audience and judges. The atmosphere was truly electric, thanks to the professional sound and lighting design at the Anselm Studios. They were joined on the trip by our two younger MGGS bands, who were inspired by the amazing performances and got a behind-the-scenes insight into live sound mixing and lighting design. All the students were then treated to a personal tour of the university’s recording studios and got a chance to learn more about careers in sound production and music courses offered at the university.
Although 6th Sense didn’t take home the winning title this year, the adjudicators made special mention of their strong energy and cohesion as a group, their well-rehearsed set, and the outstanding lead vocals and backing vocal arrangements which added musical depth to the performance. We are incredibly proud of these talented musicians and their hard work. Their performance not only highlighted their individual vocal and instrumental skills but the teamwork, passion, and dedication that goes into performing at this level.
We’re excited to announce that you will have a chance to hear all three student bands, including 6th Sense reprising their performances of Bryan Adams’ Summer of ‘69 and Green Day’s Basket Case at the MGGS Spring Concert on Thursday, 27th March. Tickets are available now for family and friends online at: https://mggs.ptly.uk/springconcert25
