A group of former students gathered at MGGS last weekend to celebrate the life of ex-student Carey Lander. Carey died last October from a rare disease called sarcoma. Sarcomas are rare cancers that develop in the muscle, bone, nerves, cartilage, tendons, blood vessels and the fatty and fibrous tissues.
Her former class mates wanted to do something in her memory and raise funds for the Sarcoma UK. Many gathered at this event, nearly all sporting some article of clothing in leopard skin print – one of Carey’s trademarks! Vintage style stalls sold clothes, shoes, jewellery and different craft items. There was a superb raffle with some wonderful beauty themed prizes. It was a real testament to Carey and her classmates that this lovely afternoon was put together. Just over £800 was raised for the charity.
