Well what can we say but a huge “Thank You”… the Auction of Promises was a massive success and we have managed to raise the grand total of £4,876.50
We had some amazing lots from a simple dog walk to a nights Dinner Bed & Breakfast at a topLondonhotel. The eventual 130 lots (we had an ambitious 125 target to represent the 125 years of MGGS) were hotly contested and some real bargains were won.
The PFA is delighted by the result and all winners and those who donated have now been contacted and matched up so they can receive their wins. It was a mammoth task for us and we can say a highly effective way to raise funds for the new sports hall.
We hope you all enjoyed it and we have been humbled by the generosity shown in so many ways. People not even connected to the school have taken part and either donated a prize or have bid for aLot. The overall total raised is testament to that generosity.
The lengths some went to secure the desired lots was mind boggling… From last minute bids before the Auction ended to early mammoth bids to ensure they secured their desired items. The handover of some of the physical lots just before our recent AGM was completed with winners collecting their items and stories of where the lots were destined and how they would bring much cheer was truly rewarding to hear.
We can but once again say huge thanks to you all for taking part and please do look out for our 2014 events.
