On Thursday 19th January we took Forte to the O2 to sing with the Young Voices choir. This consisted of 7,495 students singing songs together which we had all been working on since January, as well some funky dance moves.
In the afternoon we had a long and detailed rehearsal, singing for the first time with the professional artists, such as The Beatbox Collective, Natalie Williams, Tabby Callaghan and dancing with Urban Strides.
After rehearsal we had a quick tea before returning to our seats for the concert. It was magical. The use of tiny torches helped create a fantastic atmosphere, added to greatly by the appreciative audience of friends and family. Forte did us proud, dancing and singing with such enthusiasm and energy.
We are now hoping to do a workshop with either Urban Strides or the Beatbox collective. If your daughter is in Years 7 to 9 and would like to audition to be a member of Forte there will be an opportunity soon. Audition notices will be sent in their register boxes.
Thank you to all the parents who supported this trip, either by coming to the concert, or rehearsing all the songs with their daughters at home. We really appreciate your efforts to ensure the students had a wonderful time.
