Year 13 enjoyed their Leavers’ Assembly this morning, the culmination of a week of celebration as we’ve reminisced together about the experiences shared and memories made during their years at MGGS. The students have worked incredibly hard and are now looking forward (if tentatively!) to their examinations and the doors that these qualifications will open for their futures. Staff from across the school contributed their “words of wisdom”, and these were presented to each student on a postcard that we hope will encourage them in the coming weeks and beyond, and take pride of place at home! On Thursday, Year 13 dug out their old school uniform and the school was awash with flowers, cards and tokens of gratitude to the staff who have supported and encouraged them. We were incredibly touched by their thoughtfulness in doing so, true to the excellent community spirit of MGGS and the Sixth Form.
We finish the week feeling very proud of the young women and men our students have grown to be, and excited for them all as their pursue their ambitions. We would also like to say thank you, to the students for their hard work, and to parents, family and friends for the vital role you have played, and continue to play, in supporting Year 13. We wish the students every success in their summer examinations, and look forward to celebrating their results in August.
Students and parents are reminded that Year 13 are very welcome to attend school to revise during the examinations, and to seek support from their teachers or the SFMT if they need it. They are reminded that if they come into school at any time other than to attend an examination, they must sign in and wear their lanyard at all times.
