MGGS Fashion Show
Written by Alix, Chloe and Katie:
On Thursday 30th June we were delighted to host the very first fashion show at MGGS. Over 200 garments were showcased at this wonderful event, all having been designed and made by students from across the school. Each garment began its life as a plain piece of black or white fabric and our students worked relentlessly to apply a variety of printed, dyed and constructed textiles techniques in order to create a unique myriad of garments. The AV technicians created a sensational atmosphere with the lighting and music and the show was further elevated by our wonderfully enthusiastic audience!
Over 50 models helped us in displaying this wonderful work; giving up their lunchtimes to take part in the sessions run by one of our Year 12 students, Georgia Siggery, who taught the models some confidence boosting techniques as well as the basics of professional catwalking. One model commented “It was a fantastic night. I’m so proud to be a part of it!”. A huge thank you to all those involved in the production and delivery of this fantastic show.
