MGGS Summer Fair

MGGS Summer Fair

Friday 1st July marked the return of the MGGS Development Trust Summer Fair with a group of Year 12 students organising the event alongside Mrs Brewer and the Development Trust Ambassadors.  It was great to see students and staff enjoying a sunny afternoon of traditional summer fair games as well as a very competitive game of staff versus staff benchball!. The standard of the bake-off competition was exceptiona.l Sasha L in Year 7 wonthe Star Baker award for her 6 tiered masterpiece. It was close though, and a very tough decision for our judging panel.

Lots of prizes were won during the afternoon and the results of the stall and raffle prizes are as follows:

Photoshoot with Heidi Easby, including 3 digital images – O30, Tilda Year 7

Online fitness hub for 3 months from Trainer on the Hill – W82, Mrs Williams 

Pedicure by Gaye Lancashire – C-35, Ceri Matthews 

Ninja Warrior voucher – G-4, Helen Lunn

Pizza Express voucher from Reflect Digital – D-43, Joanna West

Gel Polish from Emily White Makeup – B-55, Soumya C        

Prison Island voucher – A-9, Rebecca Smith

1/2 Price Lashes from Allington Lashes – B-48, Lisa Winchester 

Ted Baker gift set – H-4, Victoria Hill

Name of Flamingo – Larry the flamingo and a meet the Meerkat Experience – Gabi Year 8

Balance 20p on a Lemon – Jelly Babies – Ianthe Year 8

And last but not least Penny Wars! The winner is…The Normans who will receive 150 House Points!! The Saxons came in second place securing themselves 125 House Points and the Britons came a close third and will be awarded 100 House Points. Thank you to everyone who got involved, especially our House Leaders who did a fantastic job creating some great community spirit around the school.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this event; students, staff, parents and local businesses all came together to create a fabulous event and we couldn’t have made a success of it without you.
