MGGS students and staff celebrated World Book Day on Thursday, March 6, with a variety of activities.

The day began with a special assembly video watched during Form Time. Throughout the day, students were encouraged to participate in the Caught Reading Competition, where English staff and prefects awarded raffle tickets to students spotted reading during break or lunch.

Students also tested their knowledge in the “Guess the Teacher” competition, submitting their completed sheets to their form tutors by PM registration.

In a bid to encourage reading throughout the day, students were asked to read one section of “The Darkness Out There” at the start of each lesson, while Sixth Formers were given the option to read during their silent study periods.

Adding a touch of fun to the day, Year 7 students and teachers were encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
